Building (almost) to infinity

Modular construction is a flexible construction method that allows modules to be easily stacked one along another or on top of each other. The modular system allows us place an unlimited number of units alongside one another, but are limited to stacking three REM modul units and two REM modul PLUS unit on top of one another.

The sustainability aspect of modular construction

Better control of waste. The high level of pre-assembly in the factory allows us to better control and reuse waste. This reduces our contribution to environmental pollution.
Improved air quality. As the modular structure is manufactured in a factory-controlled environment using dry materials, there is no possibility of high levels of moisture being trapped in the new building.
Reduced need for construction machinery. The volumetric design of the modules and their assembly on site eliminates the need for heavy construction machinery, reducing sound and air pollution in the local environment.
High wood content. The REM modul PLUS system makes it possible to construct a building consisting of more than 70% wood and wood-based materials.
Reduced energy consumption. By optimising production processes, we can have a significant impact on reducing energy consumption and thus increase the added value the energy actually being consumed.

Speed

A significant number of module components are pre-assembled in the factory which allows for shorter assembly times on site. The whole process speeds up project turnaround time, which also means that end-users can start using the facilities earlier.

The whole process from contract signature date to project handover took just 10 months.

High level of pre-assembly. At the end of the production process, the modules are up to 95% complete, allowing us to finish the project faster on site.
Reduced assembly time on site. The phases of modular construction often overlap with one another. This means that by the time the foundations are in place on site, the modules can already be manufactured at the production facility. This allows us to complete projects up to 50% faster than conventional construction.
Elimination of weather-related delays. As the modules are manufactured in a controlled production environment, weather does not cause unexpected delays, while good planning allows us to avoid such delays during the on-site assembly phase.

Flexibility

Modular buildings are constructed at the same time as on-site work, allowing projects to be completed in half the time of traditional construction.
